Bidirectional integration into slack

Justin has a pretty neat integration between slack and AEM mentioned here.

I was wondering if anyone has attempted bi-directional communication from slack yet? For example: I request something in my channel say "A set of assets matching a keyword" and I get a response back as a message with a link to a search results page. Is this possible at all? Any help would be great.

Yes. it is possible. Slack does provide an API to do that.  However, not sure about customization of slack interface & results you get from AEM for that matter.

This sounds more like a Slack API question as opposed to AEM.
