Best Approach for multi-country multi-language site

Avatar

Level 5

Looking at setting up site structure , MSM relationship for a multi-county , multi-language setup. And would like to know what is best practise followed from you all.

Structure needs to cater to  multiple markets and languages within markets.

Example :-

Canada as a market(country) will have english, french, spanish languages.

Australia as a market will have english, french

Germany as a market will have german, english, italian as languages.

Hi @asn11

You can create a master site in one language and for a specific country, then use that content as a basis for the other sites(mutlinational sites). Below hierarchy might give you an idea.

Below is an adobe documentation which talks about this specific use case. Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any queries.

@asn11

You can also refer We.Retail for sample site structure (multinational and multilingual)

  • Using "Language copy" can spin up a new language in language-masters (Can make use of Machine or Human translation)
  • Using "Create site" (makes use of Blueprint config where the source is language-masters root) to spin up a new site (Country specific language site as a live copy or a standalone site)

Considering the future expansion and scalability for the other markets and countries I would recommend to create first level English master copy which will then have live copy at second level to represent English version for all countries along with further sub master associated with languages like German, Canada etc.

If you are going to involve a 3rd party translation connector, @JeevanRaj suggestion will work great for you.
