Beginner's question - clickable chart?

Question

Just getting to grips with Adobe suite. I need to take a graphical picture of a chart, found here: GSA Geologic Time Scale

and convert it into clickable links. Each coloured box having it's own link. Eventual destination a web page.

Presently I am a bit overwhelmed by all the programs and options in Adobe.

What would be the best application to use?

How would one create the links?

Could I import it, so that it became editable? I have MS Office too

One option will be to use/license Dynamic Media [1] in AEM. It has the ability to add hotspot [2] to your image.
