Any article that discusses each component available in segmentation?

We want to define a segment based on user group. If a user is member of group A, we want to define segment A. Or maybe based on a department value. However the user property component OOB only lists age, gender etc.

Two questions here

a. Where do these properties come from? Our app doesn't have those

b. How to have our custom properties available in this component

c. How does the script component work in segmentation? Any examples or documentation?

Here is the documentation on Segmentation:

https://docs.adobe.com/docs/en/aem/6-1/administer/personalization/campaigns/segmentation.html

Here is a community article that talks about AEM personalization/segmentation that may help:

http://scottsdigitalcommunity.blogspot.ca/2015/08/creating-personalized-adobe-experience.html

In the article - notice how we place a new drop down control named ostype and use that for personalization.

Also - we have an expert (Dan Kleco) giving a webinar on this subject:

Hope this helps
