AEM Community Calendar Event not publishing

Avatar

Level 3

Hi Team,

I tried creating events using the Calendar community function feature and following these articles:

The events show up fine in Author instance and a Calendar tab appears in Publish as well but the actual events are not appearing in Publish Instance.

Thanks in Advance

Hi Saicharan,

You might want to do some reading on community content storage, also known as the storage resource provider (SRP).

See Community Content Storage.  There is a tutorial for setting up MongoDB for demo purposes.

Notice that the default, JSRP, is not a true common store as UGC entered on author is not available on publish, and vice-versa.

We strongly recommend, when playing with the Community Components Guide, that you do so on the publish instance, not author.

Hope this helps.

Questions

  1. What version of Communities Feature Pack do you have installed on AEM 6.1
  2. What SRP did you choose?
    • If JSRP, and you enter events using author instance, you will never see them on publish instance.
  3. Did you follow basic setup instructions, especially for adding required clientlibs?

One way to test and provide more feedback is to use the

  Community Components Guide

On the publish instance, browse to the calendar, login, and enter content..

e.g.,  http://localhost:4503/content/community-components/en/calendar.html

Let us know what you find.

Hi JK,

Thanks for the prompt response.

Here are the answers:

1.We have used Feature Pack 4 for communities.

2.We used JSRP,not sure how the other two options can be configured.

3. We added the calendar as a community function in the community template, followed the basic setup instructions ,community components guide and the events are getting created from the Publish Instance as well.
