AEM Cloud unable to set thumbnail image on a page

Hi,

I'm working on a Cloud version of AEM and have a problem setting a thumbnail image on page (in any environment even in loca instalation)
 "Repository state conflicting with request" - do you have anny suggestions on what to check? I tried checking the thumbnails of the template but it was ok and without it the whole instalation was breaking so it is not that.

Thanks to anyone who can give me any idea on wher to search for the cause.

@jusch two things: what version of aem cloud build you are using and what's your core components version?

 

Second: are you able set thumbnail for a template from code and is that getting displayed successfully for all pages created using that template?

    Hi Shashi_Mulugu,

    cloud version is always the latest, it updates automaticaly. I believe that my current update is this (AEM 2023.10.14029.20231020T111912Z)
    yes I'm able to set the thumbnail via template but it all the same for the pages, the issue is occuring when I'm trying to change it for a single page in the page properties.

      @jusch , check if the asset is locked / checked out. if yes, try unlocking / checking-in the asset and then try executing the operation.

        This is not the correct response, I checked and none of the images in my assets are locked or checked out.

          After investigating further, with a help of Adobe support we found out that in another tab of this configuration there was a property named ./image and this was creating a conflict when setting a thumbnail as it creates a jcr node called image, but in our case it exsisted already on another level so the one  for the thumbnail couldn't be created.
          For the solution we have renamed our custom property with a differnt name but be aware that this solves partialy the problem because it creates a new property namend "./customImage" but does not delete the old one "./image" so for pre existing pages the workaround is to

          1. go to the "image" configuration in the page peroperties
          2. click on "generate previev" under thumbnail configuration

          3. click on "select Image"  ad select your desired image for the thumbnail
          4. click "save"

          This will override the old ./image node with the image for the thumbnail and solve the problem.
