AEM Cloud Service - Offsite backup region

Avatar

The AEM Cloud Service documentation talks about "Offsite Backups" and says:

AEM as a Cloud Service covers this risk as standard for all AEM production environments by continuously copying the entire AEM content to a remote region and making it available for recovery for a period of 3 months
Is it possible to control / define what region the offsite backup happens to, or is this handled fully by Adobe?

Hi @martin_ecx_io ,

As an AEM as a Cloud Service customer, you do not have direct control or visibility over the specific region where the offsite backup is stored. The purpose of this approach is to ensure that your AEM content is securely backed up and available for recovery in case of any unforeseen issues or disasters. By leveraging Adobe's infrastructure and expertise, you can rely on the offsite backups to be stored in a geographically separate region, minimizing the risk of data loss.

If you have specific requirements or concerns regarding the offsite backup region, it is recommended to reach out to Adobe Support or your Adobe Account Manager to discuss your needs and explore any available options or solutions.

Thanks - I assumed this was likely the case.  The potential concern is for clients in regulated industries eg banking where it is necessary for them to be able to fully understand where their data is stored including in secure backup form.
