AEM Assets view 'view type' preference is not preserved with each folder

After migrating to cloud version from AEM 6.5 we noticed, AEM Assets views 'view type' preference is not preserved with each folder.

Previously users were able to go to a folder in assets view and set the view preference as List view go to another folder and set the view preference as Card View and when come back to previous folder is view type will switch back to List view, as it remembered the previous preference. Our users preferring this behavior and found very helpful. But after migrating to new AEM cloud version they complain missing this behavior completely and they have to set the view preference every time they switch to a folder.

Is this a bug or is there a way to configure the behavior.
