AEM 6.5 Styles not showing in AEM but showing up once launched with AEMFED

I am currently working through the WKND tutorial and have rebuilt it a few times just to make sure I wasn't missing anything. Every time when I get to adding the js and css nothing has populated and I thought I was doing something incorrectly. I went forward and launched to a localhost:3000 with the server that is being used in the tutorial, and all the styles and events were live. Wondering what is happening and what to do to debug this

Using AEM 6.5 on maven 3.6.1 build

Have you tried in Incognito mode.

I did and it wasn't working yesterday. Fired it up today and everything is running. Odd as other than restarting the server (which I did many times) I didn't shut down or clear my browser.

Just rebuilt it again and the styles are gone again Resource at '/content/wknd/en/first-article-page/jcr:content/root/responsivegrid/image.html' not found: No resource found is the error that is coming up
