Add permissions to unlock pages?

Our company is incorporating a number of international sites into our U.S. operations. We'll be working with a number of groups around the world, all maintaining their own localized versions of the main site. We've found, according to the docs and AEM blog post, that only the admin account has the ability to unlock a page.

We want to keep pages locked while we work on them ... mistakes have occurred because some pages got published before they were ready. Having only one admin with the permission to unlock a page is a bit awkward. Someone in Singapore needs to unlock a page, but the admin is in Texas, which causes a delay. Is there some way we can extend the unlocking permission to other administrators, in addition to the main admin account? (I'm on the authoring team so please excuse the newbie question.) Thanks for your help on this.

Hi Steve,

Yep, you can do that.

The feature is called: impersonate[1]

[1] https://docs.adobe.com/docs/en/cq/5-6-1/administering/security.html

You can ask your system admin to provide your account ability to impersonate some other account.

Alternatively, your account can have a special property called jcr:lockManagement which should allow you to do the same.

Given the nature of your business you might want to choose something custom too, to ensure you follow your compliance and audit requirements.

Regards,

Peter
