ACS Email Service failing when SMTP not configured

We have workflow which send the templated mail for Approval but if SMTP is not configured its failing with below error but we would like so see notification in AEM if SMTP not configured and WF to progress without that.

Caused by: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Mail template path [ <template_file_Path> ] could not resolve to a valid template

Hi Kriti,

I suggest to configure DAY CQ Mail configuration from under configuration tab in OSGi Console.

Additional to Scott, See this article for more information: Technical Knowledge Sharing Stuff: Mailing Issue in AEM with Gmail SMTP Configuration - This helps in configuring the Gmail SMTP mail.
