You can't directly import XML or other data sources into DPS, however there are many options for getting that style of content into the system. Assuming you are talking about DPS 2015, all you need to do is convert your data to HTML, then use the HTML article packaging tool to generate a .article file for the HTML. This can either be a manual process or automated. For example, there are plugins for Wordpress that automate this flow to take Wordpress posts and ingest them into DPS 2015.

You may get other replies here but strictly speaking about InDesign, you can feed InDesign with XML data and then generate an *.article file out of that.
