How do you determine what content gets what card design?

I have designed 4 types of cards... all with different column widths etc...

How do you assign what piece of content/collection gets what card design on your browse page?

I have been trying to figure this out for the last 2 days... trying to work through different scenarios etc.  but no luck.

Once you create the cards, you need to create (or edit) the layout with mapping rules. Mapping rules in the layout determine which cards are used for layouts. Here are some resources:
