Adobe Dynamic Media Classic - Metadata - Dimensions

Avatar

Hi, I've been trying to figure out how to get the metadata output to include the image asset's dimensions. Selecting a number of assets, choosing Import Metadata ( from the File menu ), generate metadata, I get the tab delimited info but the dimensions are not included. Is there no way to have that as part of the metadata template somehow so that I can gather that info?

I've explored and tried a number of methods from within the Application Setup Metadata section but nothing I've tried will get me an export of those particular data.

Thanks.

Hi,

Welcome to AEM Community !!
On Dynamic Media Classic Desktop app, when you submit a Full Publish job, you get a Catalog manifest file.

That file has the list of all the assets on your DM Classic account and it has a section name "Resolution", if that show the dimension of your images, that should work for you.

As Diksha mentioned, please contact our support via creating a ticket on Admin Console (https://adminconsole.adobe.com) and configure your FTP Server for manifest delivery.

Thanks,

Vikram Gaur

When you do a bulk metadata export (process here: https://experienceleague.adobe.com/docs/experience-manager-64/assets/administer/metadata-import-expo... ),

the generated CSV file will contain following headers:

dam:Physicalheightininches{{Decimal}}

dam:Physicalwidthininches{{Decimal}}

These are the image height and width in inches. Will this fulfil your requirement?

Thanks you but, I was hoping to do this from the AEM Dynamic Media Classic UI, we have not yet fully transitioned to AEM Assets (in process). I'm also new to the community forums here, is there a section specific to the 'classic UI"? I just realized there might have this in the wrong section if so.

@JLW-VZ  For Scene7/Dynamic Media Classic, you can get asset metadata exported to an FTP server, in the form of a manifest file.

Please get in touch with Adobe Support to know FTP details for your org account. Once the manifest delivery is setup, you can do a full-publish to get the file generated on FTP.
