Placeholder isn't showing

Hi all, 

I am having a problem with my French placeholder. I created a page in Adobe campaign that has a English and French toggle. Everything is exactly the same when it comes the English placeholder and the French placeholder. When I type in a email in the English placeholder I want that same email to stay in the placeholder when I click on the French toggle. I have even opened the page in debug mode and I notice that email is shown on the backend but its not being shown in the actual placeholder. Can anyone help me with this?
