Why visits and exit metric show the same table total ?

Hi everyone,

 

I am confused why exit and visit metric show the same table total values for page name and for all other dimensions as well. While the columns show different value which are not same otherwise.

 

Is there any specific concept I am missing out on. Can someone shed some light on it?

@manpreet1 Since every visit has entry and exit (1 visit = 1 entry = 1 exit). That's why they are showing same totals. Breakdowns may not show same values due to date range selected.

For example, when checking the day dimension, we may have a visit start on a particular day just before midnight, which ends on the next day. Then :- 

  • The visit will be shown in both
  • The entry will be shown on day 1
  • The exit will be shown on day 2
