Why can we use Min/Max on Line chart but not Area Chart?

Not sure if I am missing something, but I don't see a way to do min/max on an Area Chart. Was wondering if this is something quick that can be added to the chart options. Sometimes I don't want to have to hover to bring up the numbers, and it would help a report viewer, at a glance, see if our numbers look better month over month for the max of the chart, for example. 

 

Please let me know if this is feasible or if I am missing something.

Overlays options are available to the series in Line visualizations but not available for Area and Area stacked.

    While this may not be available now, the best place to make roadmap suggestions is in the Ideas portion of the forum.

    Adobe staff review that area for potential ideas and items with more upvotes are more likely to be added.

     

    Here (the questions portion) is where other users like yourself can try to help solve issues... in this case, while I don't know a way to map the max/min onto the chart, you could create some Summary Text blocks to show Max and Min near the graph (if not on the graph)

        From my experience of using area charts, I'd say that this comes down to a balance that was needed between reporting effectiveness vs browser performance.

        I've noticed that area charts tend to use more CPU power than line charts, to the point where when I have 6 area charts visualising various breakdowns (e.g. Marketing Channels), then my browser becomes sluggish and I can hear my computer's fan start blowing crazily.

        So, adding additional visualisations that require computations could "blow up" the computer. And since Analysis Workspace doesn't limit the number of visualisations nor breakdowns per visualisation, end users who litter their dashboard with area charts could see their computers grind to a halt.

        Still, I think this is a worthwhile idea to bring up for the Engineering team to consider.
