What's the difference between rollup and global report suites?

Rollups are great for getting summary aggregate data between a few report suites.  What rollups are not good at is doing in depth analysis like breaking down variables and using classifications and stuff like that.  They just are not very robust and should be used for Summary data only.  Pros: it's free Cons: not super deep information.

Global report suites on the other hand are very useful.  They can provide holistic views of traffic and how it moves across your different domains.  Deduplicated visit/visitor totals to all your domains.  Segmentation to get to actual smaller site information.  Pros: super deep data analysis Cons: more server calls.

I hope that helps set expectations between the differences of each in a quick statement.

I found out two contradicting statements on rollup report suite as mentioned below:

• 1. When adding a report suite to an existing rollup, historical data is not included in the rollup.
• 2. Historical data: Rollups can aggregate historical data, while global report suites only report data from the point they were implemented
• Is there a large amount of actionable historical data? Global report suites cannot report retroactively - rollups are recommended if historical data is important.

• According to the first statement, rollup report suite can't aggregate historical data while according to the second statement, rollups can aggregate historical data but global cannot.
• Can you please guide me whether rollup report suite can aggregate historical data or not?
