Visits Bucketized in Unspecified/typed bookmark

Avatar

Hi there,

At times, most of our campaign visits fall under unspecified/typed bookmark etc, any possible reason as to why this happens? We often check our campaign set up and everything seem to be perfect. Could this possibly be an Adobe issue? If so, what is the workaround we could follow? Is there anything we can refer to resolve this issue?

Many thanks!

@digital_markete You are seeing Typed/Bookmarked because when a visitor lands on your page through a bookmark  then they fall under 'Typed/Bookmarked' . Another reason is when a hit does not have any referrer data  it falls under "Typed/Bookmarked" . This dimension item means that there was no referrer value, such as if the visitor manually typed the browser address into the address bar, or clicked a bookmark.

If in some hits, campaign was not set then it will show Unspecified in Campaign for those hits.

Hi @amgup, thanks for clarifying, I did not understand when we say "visitor landed through a bookmark", I see typed/bookmark a lot, at times, does this mean that too many users are typing the address manually? Because this seem highly unlikely.

It depends on the Marketing Channel type in which you are seeing this as well on the configured rules for marketing channel.

@digital_markete ,

A visit falls under Typed/Bookmark if the parameter "r" referrer is not set for the hit. This generally happens when user types the URL directly in the browser which already have the campaign QSP or when user navigates from HTTPS pages to HTTP page or during redirects or temporarily forwarding the visitor to a payment processor referrer does not get captured sometimes.

To make sure you capture referrer all the time, you can implement s.referrer to overrides the automatically collected referrer in reports.

Referrer info can also be lost due to redirect issues. It is possible that when a visitor is clicking on the campaign , there is a "redirect" before the user lands on the landing page.
