Video - impact of prerolls

Hi,

 

We track ads on videos in Adobe Analytics.

I don't know how I can filter on content starts with a preroll.

I want to get a calculated metric like ad starts / content starts to measure the content starts that we lose due to a preroll (so I just want to integrate content starts with a preroll)

I assume that you're not using Adobe Media Analytics.

Are you sending Custom Link beacons when a preroll starts, and another Custom Link beacon when the actual video starts? If so, could you take the difference between those 2 Custom Link instances?

We use Adobe Media Analytics but I don't know how I can filter only on content starts and media starts with a preroll

Unfortunately, I haven't used Adobe Media Analytics myself. But my understanding is that it can report on ads separately from your videos. Could you create a Calculated Metric, e.g. "video starts", that subtracts ad starts from content starts? This assumes that all of your videos have pre-rolls.

No we don't have a pre-roll on each video, that's why it is so tricky !
