How should debug/ breakdown the sudden high values and how should provide proper explanation on this?

@reddy_y-11  Best way to look at the data feeds and see if there is any bot activity on that specific date

Do you have alternate tracking systems? Like Google Analytics?

 

If so, are you seeing a similar spike there?

 

 

  • You could check and see if the was a lot of incoming marketing links?
  • Maybe something got picked up by social media or an aggregator that drove a lot of traffic to you site that day?
  • Were you potentially hit by a spammy bot? (you could check to see if you have an abnormal amount of traffic that came from one or two IPs that aren't standard traffic source using Workspace; you could also check to see if there was high traffic from old or undefined browsers/OSs - a lot of bots register as older tech, etc)

 

These are some of the first things I would check to try and determine if the traffic was legitimate or not....
