SOLVED

Users with the Most Page Views

I'm trying to create a segment of Top 25 users with the most page views for a specific company.  I've used the Visitor definition and the company in the segment and specified the number of Page Views going by what I see when I look at users for this company.  However the results that are pulled in are not the users with the most page views, what am I doing wrong here?

Hi @tthmx9,
Unfortunately Adobe Analytics doesn't support dynamic filtering based on the top number of dimensions based on a specific metric.

Your segment is just showing you any visitor who has seen more 628 page views in any given visit and has at least set the company dimension at least once in a single visit. The report you are seeing is the page views of that user in the timeframe you have selected. As the segment is visitor based you will see users activity as long as they match the criteria even if they didn't set the company dimension or view 628 page views in the specified time frame.

But what you could do is create a report with page views as your metric and the user as your dimension and limit that to 25 Rows, then segment by the company at a hit based level. This will then show you the report I think you need.

If you then wanted to see the actions of those specific users you can then highlight the rows, right click and then select create a segment form the selection. This won't automatically bring in the company filtering but you can then combine the newly created  user segment with the company segment so to create a third which will give you a static segment to display the actions of the top 25 users based on the company dimension.

Amazing thank you!  That actually does just what I needed as I initially thought to create a segment on those users but thought I'd have to manually add their names.  Didn't know I could right click and do it from there!  Thanks very much
