Tracking File Downloads when user right-click

A colleague raised a funny issue with me today, and I can't seem to find an adequate solution/work-around....

As with most installations, we are tracking file downloads as part of our Analytics implementation.  This works great when the user left clicks on the link, however, when they right click, and then Save As, the download is not registered.  This means we are not tracking these downloads in Analytics, so there is a potential gap, or grey area.

I would assume this is not happening on a large scale, and would be more likely to occur with a power-user rather than your average Joe.

I can get the count of download in the server logs, but I don't really want to go there.

Has anyone else come across this, and if so, how did you get around it?
