Summary number freeform table - does not agree with average

Hi all,

I have a freeform table with percentages. Adobe Analytics shows an average of 14%. However, if I save all the figures in Excel and calculate the average there, I only get 12%. In the table, I use month as a dimension on one side and the number of users who must have performed certain actions on our site (e.g. watched a video at least once or read an article to the end at least once) on the other side. Why is there a difference of 2% between the value I calculated and the value from Adobe?

Thanks,

Sophie

Hi @sophiegerhard ,

Adobe Analytics by default will deduplicate the unique visitors for all months. That means, if a user is included in month of Jan & same user appears in March data, Adobe calculation will use that as 1 and not two as your calculation would have done in Excel. Also, when you are looking at longer reporting period, Adobe will count deduplicated vs. counting days. To understand it bit more, you can append raw data metrics along side your calculated metric and you will be able to see the difference for yourself.

If you are looking to report based on user volume, I would say, go with 14%.
