Hi @priyankagupta20

it really depends on the setup of your Marketing Channels. If you are going with the standard setup for the "Referring domains" marketinf channel, it states that this rule only applies to the "first Hit of a visit".

There are two Scenarios

Scenario 1 - same session

So, if the traffic flow is from abc->xyz->abc within the same visit time window of 30 minutes, nothing should happen, meaning no increase in Marketing Channel Instances.

Scenario 2 - new session

Should the user decide to take a nap on xyz.com and click to continues to abc.com after 31 minutes, this will be

a) counted as "session refresh" if "xyz.com" is listed as internal URL filter

b) counted as "referring domain" if xyz.com is NOT listed in the internal URL filters

---------

Session Refresh is covering a case where the referrer information is indicating that the user was previously coming from your own website (depending on which domains you have listed in the Internal URL filters), BUT did not have a valid session.

On top of this, you will want to be sure that both abc.com and xyz.com are configured as internal domains, and you will also want to make sure that your analytics extensions don't trigger "exit" links when clicking through from one server to the other...

Even if both servers are "internal", you want to make sure that your automatic exit tracking doesn't trigger during the flow.
