Scheduled report not running

Avatar

I have a Report Builder report that runs as expected when I update the data blocks manually, but if I try to schedule it, it fails. I'm looking for a reason why it failed, but "Error: 8018" is the only thing I see. Nothing complex about the report. Can anyone help? Thanks.

It shouldn't be.. unless you have some ultra complex segments on some of those data blocks...

And that is weird...  I wouldn't expect a Pivot Table would cause issues either... since that shouldn't be directly related to the Report Builder functionality either...

It might be a bug in the new version... I definitely think Client Care needs to review this... if there is a bug, they need to get that fixed.

Sometimes the Adobe Errors leave a lot to be desired... They don't provide details to the end user, and there doesn't seem to be any documentation about specific error codes.

Unfortunately, I have a feeling you might have to contact Client Care.

That said, my initial thoughts are that if you have a lot of requests in the single report; this might be related to a timeout issue during the schedule? That of course doesn't help much if that is the case, as I would assume you need all those requests to support what you are reporting on...

If you don't have a lot of requests, is there anything other details that we might not know about? I assume that you are scheduling the report from the same account where you are doing the manual updates, so I wouldn't expect this to be related to a permission issue.

I assume this is the new Report Builder, and not the Old version?

Thanks, @Jennifer_Dungan. Appreciate the feedback.

Actually, there are only 20 data blocks in the report, so I don't think (hope) that would be the issue. And, yes, it's the new version.

The only weird thing that I've encountered (or maybe it's coincidence) is that the report has multiple pivot tables in it on different sheets. When I delete all but one, the report seems to schedule successfully. That's not helpful, obviously, and something I've done regularly in the old version, but maybe is an issue with the new version?

FWIW ... I recreated the report in the old version of Report Builder and it schedules as expected. Hmmm.

Well that is curious... I would definitely open a ticket about that!
