Referring Subdomain Visits

Simple question, but struggling to find an answer.

We are tracking www.domain.com and have created a blog on subdomain.domain.com.  The blog is on a different server and does not have sitecat tracking code on it.

I feel we should still be able to tracking the # of referring visits from subdomain.domain.com to www.domain.com...but we cannot.  What am I missing?

Thank you for the assist.

Hi Chris,

If I understand your query correctly, the probable reason why visits from your subdomain don't show up in the referrer report is because it would be listed as an Internal URL in the URL filter.

The URL filter will treat visits from your subdomain as interal and it does not show up in the referrer report.

You could also check out this documentation and the links given inside - https://marketing.adobe.com/resources/help/en_US/reference/internal_URL_filter_admin.html

TM

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out to Adobe Community.

You can run the referrers report on www.domain.com to see if subdomain.domain.com is one of the top referrers.

Thanks!

Thanks for the response.

The referrers report does not show visits from the subdomain.  Also, you might be thinking that no one clicks over to the main domain....not true, this subdomain blog should be a top referrer.
