Page views very low but site traffic up above average

I am a little stumped when looking over my pages...

In the recent past, we would publish stories and they would get 1k, 2k, even 3k page views. Recently we noticed none are really breaking 500. We have started using Bit.ly links when pushing our stories out on social and in one case, the Bit.ly link has 576 clicks but less than 100 page views. 

Any thoughts to this?

Hi

Following could be the possible reasons:

1. I hope link doesn't open a js overlay which might result into higher clicks than pageviews.

2. If its redirecting to other page , check in debugger if request is not getting break (minimum 500 ms required to complete the request).

3. No java script error on the page.

4. if request is sending by ajax please check in the debugger that sitecatalyst request is been captured properly.
