OS Values Missing in OPERATING_SYSTEM_TYPE Dynamic Lookup

Should the operating_system_type dynamic lookup contain a record for each OS value in hit_data?  We are seeing some OS values in hit_data that are missing from operating_system_type.

The Operating System Type should be included... but it's possible that there some User Agents that aren't mapped, but more likely, some bots don't get mapped...

Can you share a few examples of what you are seeing in the OS data?

I accidentally marked this as having an accepted solution.

Thanks for your response, Jennifer.  The numbers I provided above are the OS values from the hit_data raw data files that do not have a record in the OPERATING_SYSTEM_TYPE raw data file.  The OPERATING_SYSTEM for the missing OPERATING_SYSTEM_TYPE values are as follows:

  • DragonFly BSD
  • FreeBSD
  • KaiOS 2.5.3
  • LG proprietary
  • Maemo
  • MeeGo 1.2
  • OpenBSD
  • PlayStation 4 OS 10.01
  • PlayStation 5 OS
  • Tizen 4.0
  • Tizen 5.0
  • Tizen 5.5
  • Tizen 6.0
  • Tizen 6.5
  • Tizen 7.0
  • Tizen 8.0

We have seen almost 400 hits since Oct, which is not significant, but we just want to be able to explain this.

Interesting... those look like legitimate OSs... this sounds like it might be a ticket to client care for the engineering team to make sure those are added to the files.
