Hi,

We are tracking visitor id using s_vi cookie from s_code.

We are noticing null entries in eVarX and PropX for the few visitor ids

Can someone please help us on this issue.

Thanks,

Prateesh

If Adobe Analytics cannot set a cookie of any sort, it will fall back to using a combination of IP address and user agent.

Could you please check your Visitor ID implementation wrt to the procedure outlined here?

Let us know if it still doesn't work

HI TM,

Please find below has the scenario details on this issie:

We are capturing visitor ID details under s_vi using Data Insertion API inside SiteCatalyst under eVar X and Prop Y. If the cookie is not set/read from s_vi, we are passing the value as ‘null.’

Adobe SiteCatalyst:

  • Adobe SiteCatalyst has confirmed that by pulling raw data from their servers that if JS is blocked in the browser they can’t track the s_vi cookie value.

Applications:

  • Application will not run if the JS is disabled.

Issues:

  • We are noticing 80% of data in production as null visitor id.
  • Application will not run if the JS is disabled. Please read next point..
  • How come Adobe SiteCatalyst was able to identify the s_vi data if the cookies are disabled in the browser.
  • There is a fallback method if 's_vi' is not set we can use 'fid' but both visitor id and fid are based on the cookie information, if cookies are disabled how fid will work ?

Thanks,

Prathi

Hi Prathi,

Thanks for putting out the details.

If you had raised a ticket with Customer Care, could you also share your incident Id so that I could look into it internally?

Thanks!

Hi Gigazelle,

We have already tried that if visitor id is not set lets sat eVar X fetch the 'fid' value and pass it in eVar Y.

Couple of queries

1. Both s_vi and fid are cookie based how can it will set if cookie is disabled in browser ?

2. What is java unkown version in browser report ?

Thanks,

Prathi
