Need Clarification (Any Suggestion) On Data Discrepancy

Avatar

Level 2

I am dealing with several types of data from Adobe Analytics, but discovered certain discrepancy.
We are using CID with URL to track the campaign traffic. Now for two separate reasons I capture data in 2 different way.
1st Way:

Tracking Code ------- Unique Visitors

2nd Way:

Tracking Code ------- Unique Visitors -------- Bounce Rate ------- Avg Time Spent

Now I am seeing difference in "Unique Visitors" in 2 dataset. Numbers are less in 2nd way, is the difference is due to the separate parameters in 2 cases? Or there might be  some error in data?

Regards

I agree, we unfortunately don't have enough information to understand what you are seeing or what the problem is to be able to properly help you.

Another information is; in 1st way data collected weekly and in 2nd way monthly.

I'm afraid I am still not sure what the discrepancy is... what is the retention period of your tracking codes? Once a value is tracked, it will continue to persist the value until it expires or is overwritten...

Also, are these your raw dimensions, or Segments used to pull the Tracking Code value.. if segments, what is the definition of the segment?

Hi @utsavm1234 , as Jen mentioned, tracking code will persist based upon your rules.  I find it's often easier to troubleshoot issues while just looking at instances where values were set (and excluding persistence).  You can do that in the segment builder.

You can also just use the "Tracking Code Instances" metric in your freeform table (without needing to build a segment)
