Google Shopping Ads for multi-store website

Can Google Shopping ads be run at the store level? For example, if the website has many stores (multi-store) can each individual store be set up to run separate/different Google Shopping ads, or does it all have to be at the website level? Can each store have different Google Merchant Center accounts?

Not really an Adobe question but lets go anyhow!
They can be run either way but if they are all in the same account, they wont compete with each other to be placed. 
If they are all on different accounts, they will compete so it may cost more in the long run but may get shown more because you could take up more placements.
