Discrepancy between Adobe Customer Journey Analytics and Adobe Experience Platform Query

Hi, I had an existing connection where I added a dataset with backfill. After backfill I see correct no. of records at connection level. But when I utilize the attributes in a canvas I see the total count of event different from what I see using query service. Any suggestions, help is highly appreciated

Check these steps

Data View settings – Verify the time zone, including datasets and lookback windows.

Date range in Canvas – Ensure it covers your backfill period.

Metric differences – Query Service counts rows; CJA may count events or people differently.

Filters/segments – Check if any are applied in the Canvas.

Duplicates or join key issues – Confirm FPID or join keys are correct.

Backfill processing – Make sure the dataset is fully processed.

Query vs. CJA scope – Query Service is raw data; CJA applies processing rules.

Most mismatches are due to Data View config or date ranges.

When you mention canvas, are you referring to the Journey Canvas?  I'd recommend building a Freeform table with the dataset ID (or name if you've build a derived field) and the number of events.  As mentioned, as long as your date range encompasses the full range of events in your dataset, I'd expect these to have parity.
