Classifications values unspecified for small period of time

I upload classifications via ftp 3 times a day on an 8 hour interval, for each key value there are about 10 fields, these fields can change for a given key.
I do not empty or clear any fields on a particular key. I have a report that uses a segment which filters my report by 15 key values. I can view the report and see the associated classification fields and metrics for each key. One of my ftp jobs runs in the morning, I noticed after I get a success email and the classifications are uploaded, my report shows unspecified for all classification values under the filtered keys. These keys always had classifications, the thing to note is the classification files uploaded may have different classification fields per key but I would expect the old values to show rather than unspecified. After some time I can see the new classification values for my keys. Why are the old classification fields not shown when adobe is propagating the new classification values to reports?

Dear JayKay,

Classifications may usually take 24 to 48 hours to reflect.

Even though old values exists, Adobe will reclassify the keys based on the new update and thus i prefer you to wait and if not reach Customer Care.

We need to see the files and interface to help you in this case.

Thank You!

Dear JayKay,

There is an option in Browser Import which says "Overwrite data on conflicts". It means, it will override the classification done earlier and use the updated one.

I am not sure whether FTP has this option since i never used. If you have and if you have checked the box, it might be due to the same.

Thank You!

I see unspecified for even ones that were not overwritten. When I export the classification file via browser I see all the right values for my keys.

Also for the ones that are overwritten. I am asking in the time it takes the classification values to propagate to reporting (but they have been successfully uploaded verified through a browser export), are the old values replaced with unspecified. I would want the old values to remain visible so there isnt this period where all updated keys are unspecified.

Arun is correct here - it takes time for classification files to reflect correct data. You might see odd data while the classification tables are updated, even if the files didn't change those particular values.
