capture MCID value through Experience Cloud ID Service extension

We understand that there are few method to capture the MCID value and store it in respective variable (eVar or prop). We are capturing the MCID value through the "Experience Cloud ID Service" extension and data element type as "ECID". Please refer the screenshot showed below. I would like to check if this method is preferable way to capture the MCID value through the mentioned extension. I always see the value capture and fall under the respective variable, no issue found on this method. However, would like to get confirmation from here before proceeding with other web property.
