Best way to record release versions for analysis?

Is there a best practice for recording in Adobe Analytics the date and time that new site versions were released to study the impact the release has on key metrics?

There are currently no best practices for this sort of thing, however if you kept your "site version" in a custom variable, you could create reports and segments based on this custom dimension to pull whatever you needed.
