Average visit time

Hi,

I need your help concerning two questions:

1. Is it possible to get any information about the average visit time and not only "Time spent per visit" (<1 Minute, 1-5 minutes,...)?

2. Why does the number of visits in "Time spent per visit" not match with the Number of visits in "Search Keywords-All"?

Thank you for your help!

Hi Claus,

1. There are a number of ways you can get the average visit time. My personal favorite is to use the "Average Time Spent on Site (seconds)" metric in Analysis Workspace but there are several other ways. You can read about them here: http://marketing.adobe.com/resources/help/kb/en_US/analytics/kb/average-time-spent-on-site.html

2. The "Time spent per visit" metric requires at least two "hits" to your site from a visitor in order to be included in the metric and doesn't consider how the visitors actually came to your site. See http://marketing.adobe.com/resources/help/en_US/reference/metrics_time_spent.html for detailed information about how "Time spent per visit" is calculated. "Search Keywords-All" only considers visitors that came to your site via a search. A visitor that came to your site by directly typing in the URL would be included in the Time spent per visit calculation but not in the Search Keywords calculation.

Best of luck!
