Hi,
Is it advisable to check Products dimension along with other ecommerce events in Analysis Workspace. If we found some junk values like below, what could be the probable reason.
Note : Yes, there was a problem in product syntax earlier but that has also been fixed a week earlier. And I am checking the data for last 2 days, it still shows some values starting with "eVar=" . What could be the reason for these few entries still persisting in the data?
Thanks for the inputs.
Hi @aguseranalytics ,
These values are definitely coming from incorrect implementation of the products variable. As you said the issue is fixed last week, it may take some time for these values to clear out from reporting as for some users the old Adobe Launch library (one before the fix that has incorrect product implementation) might be cached on their browsers. As these users keep coming back to your site after the fix deployment they might be tracked using the cached versions for couple of initial hits before the latest library is delivered to them.
You might see a small percentage of these values pop up in reporting over next couple of weeks depending upon the return frequency of the users and the library version delivered to them.
You can refer to browser caching and edge caching documentation for more details on how caching can impact the data tracked using Adobe Launch.
Cheers!
Yep, thanks @Harveer_SinghGi1 for sharing the document on caching. It is indeed relatable because this kind of report I am getting is completely ambiguous as these variables were not even supposed to fire against these ecommerce events. I will surely, monitor the data going forward.
Thank you!!
Good luck! I also agree, this looks like potential caching... if it doesn't clear up soon however, then maybe you need to redeploy the fix?
Try this once and see what its showing
Break down Products by Hit Timestamp and check if the junk values appear only in older timestamps.
