AMCV & s_ecid cookies

Hello Experts,

We are trying to figure out best way to categorize AMCV, AMCVS & s_ecid cookies in One Trust.

All the other analytics cookies are categorized as Performance cookies

and these 3 cookies are categorized as Targeting cookies.

We see that Analytics calls are happening fine but wanted your opinion if End users don't accept targeting cookies to be dropped to their browsers, will that affects analytics by any means.

In Other words should we categorize these 3 cookies as Performance cookies?

Thanks,

Nitin

Hi @nitinsi5

looking at the documentation here, I would be pragmatic and categorize all of them as Performance/analytics cookies.

  • AMCV contains the Visitor ID which allows reidentifying the user across pages i.e., you are tracking his moves across the website
  • AMCVS just contains a value of 1 and is based upon AMCV
  • s_ecid contains a copy of the ECID/MID value in the AMCV cookie i.e., so also Performance

One question, are you using the Visitor ID optIn service API to control the Adobe tools?
