AEP Assurance framework in prod environment

We are in process of upgrading the new AEP mobile SDK on both our iOS and Android apps.
Team is leveraging AEP Assurance extension for validation purpose. Wanted to know if we can keep this extension (AEP Assurance) for prod builds as well. What are the recommendations or best practices on this implementation? Any suggestions/ thoughts are highly appreciated.
