Site wide calculated metrics

I would love to be able to apply calculated metrics to the site wide and see the trends.

For instance in the Cart Conversion Funnel you can see the Order Conversion (visits to orders).  Why can we not see that across time.  Why do I need to create a ReportBuilder spreadsheet for that?
