More, better comparison date ranges

Description - Working on monthly scorecards, I need a date range that can always update itself to the report date range, but in the prior year.

Would be even better if there was a day-of-week adjusted version, but I would take a "this month last year". This seems very basic for what Workspace should offer. Just a "this date range minus 365" would get me there.

Why is this feature important to you - Creating comparison date ranges that can't update themselves and/or have labels that don't make sense to my internal customers means that we are going to have to create the reporting in PowerBI or Excel.

How would you like the feature to work - If my panel date is for the month of February 2025, "this month last year" would show February 2024.

Current Behaviour - I can create a static date range for this comparison, but it will not update when it's time to update this monthly scorecard for the next month.

hi @sarahbh - are you working with mobile scorecards or workspace projects?

In mobile scorecards, you can add date ranges.  Monthly, for example, gives the option to compare this month (excluding today) vs. same month last year.

In workspace projects, you can right click and add another date range, including this month last year to date range. Example below from demo data.

You can also create custom date ranges such as today - 365 days and use that as a comparison.

Hi Josh, thanks for your response. This is in Workspace.

I need these to update on a rolling basis rather than static custom date ranges. I have been using the dates relative to report date setting, which is working okay.

I have never seen this "Add standard monthly dates" dialogue. Any hints on how to find it?

The "add standard monthly dates" is for date ranges on the mobile scorecards.  You'd mentioned scorecards so I thought you might be working with those.

Ahh, I gotcha - no, that's just what we are calling this format of Workspace report.

I'd love it if Adobe would make sure the functionality for mobile scorecards is also available in Workspace, but I gather they are putting most of their workforce on CJA these days.

So, this is still a feature request: The messy format of the rolling date ranges in Workspace is almost certainly going to confuse my stakeholders (it was not even understandable to my own team of analysts), where something like "This month vs. same month last year" is completely clear for any audience.
