Google logged in searches

Sitecatalyst/discover should recognise visits from google organic search even if the search term has been removed from the referrer header.

Following the new change from Google (http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2011/10/making-search-more-secure.html), logged in organic search visits show slightly differently in the referrer string, they now include ...&q=&... rather than ...&q=search+term&... . These should still be recognised in the referrer type report as 'search engines', rather than 'other websites' and show up as 'Google' in the search engines report.

Would also be helpful to have these search terms bucketed as "Encrypted Search" in the keywords reports.

Please note: the Google Analytics team mistakenly stated that "all web analytics services" would still identify this as traffic from Google.  See below (emphasis added):

"When a signed in user visits your site from an organic Google search, all web analytics services, including Google Analytics, will continue to recognize the visit as Google “organic” search, but will no longer report the query terms that the user searched on to reach your site."

http://analytics.blogspot.com/2011/10/making-search-more-secure-accessing.html

Webtrends has also confirmed that they WILL still capture encrypted searches as traffic from Google.

Hoping to see a fix from Omniture on this soon!

Thanks,

Starting on Tuesday, 8 November 2011, the term "Keyword Unavailable" will appear in keywords reports, and this traffic will be identified as Natural Search traffic in Referrer Types, Search Engines and Marketing Channel reports.

As an addition to this, in the keywords report it should be possible to filter by 'keyword unavailable' (currently putting this into the search box throws up no results).

Google logged in search referral data is changing:

Can the "keyword unavailable" rules be updated to account for this?

As Bret mentioned several comments ago, SiteCatalyst has been reporting these searches as "Keyword Unavailable" for more than a year now. Additionally, SiteCatalyst has been ready for additional rollout of Google Secure Search prior to or at the time of rollout since then. See http://blogs.adobe.com/digitalmarketing/analytics/googles-search-results-referrer-update/ for an example of this.
