Description -

Why is this feature important to you - When we create a dynamic report using segment filter, it always pull in zero visits dimensions which is confusing the audience.

How would you like the feature to work - Bounce Rate should exclude zero visits

Current Behaviour - Bounce Rate include zero visits

It seems like you're suggesting an enhancement to the behavior of Bounce Rate reporting in Adobe Analytics.

In current behavior, a bounce in Adobe Analytics is defined as a single-page visit, or a visit in which the person leaves the site from the entrance page. This implies that the session has a 'visit' and 'page view', but no other interaction takes place on the website. Thus, the concept of 'zero visits' does not apply to bounce rate as per Adobe's definition.

It looks like the confusion arises from the term 'zero visits dimensions'. If you mean dimensions with zero visits in the segment filter, note that bounce rate shouldn't appear in these instances because a bounce, by definition, includes at least one visit. So if a segment filter is pulling in dimensions with zero visits, the bounce rate would naturally be undefined or invalid.

However, if you mean to exclude dimensions with zero bounces, it might be possible through the use of filters or custom segment creation. It would be beneficial to get more clarity on your particular use-case or the problem you're trying to solve.

Remember, a change in how bounce rate is calculated would affect all users of Adobe Analytics, so any proposed change would need to be carefully considered, not just for its impact on your use-case, but for the wider Adobe Analytics user base.

Adobe values feedback from its users, and you can submit your feature request directly to them. They usually evaluate the feasibility of new feature requests based on factors like demand, alignment with their product roadmap, and technical feasibility.

Thank you for your reply!  We don't mean to exclude dimension with zero bounces.

If what you state is true for the current behavior of Bounce rate, then someone from Adobe support gave us the wrong answer on Bounce rate ticket we had on the fact that it include zero visits which we know it should not be the case.  For details, here's the case ID: E-000924827 that was just closed today.  He gave us the suggestion to submit this through feature request for enhancement.  This is not the first time bounce rate including zero visits was brought up.  Thank you!

We don't actually have access to your tickets... we are users just like you...

Maybe you can explain / show us in more detail what you are experiencing.. including what kind of segments you are using that might be causing some issues in reviewing your bounce rate.

Are you using virtual report suites for this analysis?

If you are using a Virtual Report Suite, it can be that the dimensions shown with zero visits were perhaps seen as the first dimension in the visit to your site, however this dimension has been excluded from your report suite hence showing zero visits when reported alongside the bounce rate metric.
