There are 250 + evars ,props and events . Each of them have multiple settings and these need to be set manually. Sometimes this leads to wrong settings done for some of the custom variable. If someone has to review the settings done for these variables it becomes a tedious task. There should be option to import and export these settings so that it becomes easy to manage these variables.

How often would you need to use a tool like this? My hope is that with our recent improvements to report suite creation (in case you missed it, nearly all settings are now copied from one suite to another when you create a new one based on an existing one), errors during setup should be minimized. Additionally, since you can still select multiple suites when you apply a setting, and since there are now far more settings available (and more coming soon!). . . I'm trying to gauge how important this is when compared to other work we've got scheduled. Also trying to understand how to build it so that it reduces errors.

Hi Benjamin

I do agree with you that new changes related to copying report suites have improved. However copying can only be used at the time of creating new report suite.

For most of sites there are generally 2 to 3 different report suites (test ,beta or poduction). If some new variables are to be added (more frequent since inception of Tag Manager)  these changes needs to be propagated  across multiple report suites manually. Consider same scenario for sites which have different report suites for different countries however following same SDR.

Secondly if we view conversion variables most of the variables settings are hidden and you need to expand every setting manually to change or view them. Even the clicking on show all expands only disabled variables.

A solution for these issues is a generalized format for SDR which contains all settings for various custom variable.
