Hi @abhinavpuri - quick question please. I see the exam prep guide mentions Data Workbench. But as far as I understand Data Workbench has been retired. Do we still need to know this for the exam?

Hi @nicole_ned_sa ,

Adobe Workbench is retired December 31, 2023, so I assume there should not be any related questions, however I can check to confirm this with Adobe team. It might also depend on last time exam was refreshed.

Hi @abhinavpuri - me again apologies. For the sample questions exam, can we take this more than once? I would like to take it initially to understand where I am lacking and need to focus. I would then like to take it again after I have studied further. Is there a limit to the number of times?

Hi @nicole_ned_sa ,

Absolutely you can take sample question exam more than once. Feel free to attempt once and determine sections to focus on based upon results.

Good Luck!

Hi Aspirants -

As we work towards our Business Practitioner Professional certification, there are four main sections we’ll be focusing on, along with their overall emphasis on the final exam. They are:

  • Section 1: Business analysis (34%)
      • Given a business need/question, identify an appropriate reporting strategy to perform an analysis
      • Analyze data to answer business questions
      • Identify conversion funnels (as a concept to understand business analysis)
      • Consult the Solution Design Reference (SDR) to determine what data is available in reports
      • Analyze report data to summarize and draw conclusions
      • Recognize outliers and anomalies in reports

  • Section 2: Reporting and dashboarding for projects (38%)
      • Consider the advantages of using specific visualizations based on a given scenario
      • Compare fallout and flow visualization
      • Apply the process to schedule and share Projects for different users and/or groups
      • Apply the process to look up and combine dimensions, metrics, date ranges, and segments
      • Apply the process to create a visualization
      • Given a scenario, determine the appropriate item to use
      • Report on marketing campaign performance

  • Section 3: Segmentation and calculated metrics (19%)
      • Determine how to develop and configure basic segments using best practices
      • Apply the process to share segments with others in the organization
      • Apply segments to Projects and Components
      • Apply the process to generate basic calculated and/or segmented metrics

  • Section 4: General tool knowledge and troubleshooting (9%)
      • Understand different types of dimensions and parameters existing in Adobe Analytics (evars, props, and events)
      • Determine how to export data from Adobe Analytics

Hello Aspirants,

How is everyone doing in their certification journey? Any questions? Any roadblocks? Let me know.!

Take a look at the resources for the below components in Analysis Workspace:

Metrics:

Metrics allow you to quantify dimension items, such as to see which pages on your site have the most page views. You can also trend metrics over time, such as to see how many orders visitors make on your site each day. A basic report shows rows of string values (dimension), against a column of numeric values (metric).

https://experienceleague.adobe.com/en/docs/analytics/components/metrics/overview

Dimensions:

Dimensions are variables in Adobe Analytics that typically contain string values. Common dimensions include Page, Referring domain, or an eVar. In contrast, metrics  contain numeric values that tie to a dimension. A basic report shows rows of string values (dimension), against a column of numeric values (metric).

https://experienceleague.adobe.com/en/docs/analytics/components/dimensions/overview

Segments:

Segments allow you to identify subsets of visitors based on characteristics or website interactions. Segments are designed as audience insights that you can build for your specific needs, and then verify, edit, and share with other team members or use in other Adobe products and Analytics capabilities.

@abhinavpuri , there was a question regarding the introduction of secondary server calls. This is a concept I have never quite understood. Can you possibly explain it using an example of where and why you would use it please?

Nicole_Ned_SA
Level 2
August 27, 2024

Hi @nicole_ned_sa ,

That's good question, Let me try and answer in simplest way -

  • Primary Server Calls: These are tracking calls made by Website to Adobe Analytics Servers for data collection, these include all possible ways to track data (send data to Adobe Analytics servers) like - Pageview tracking calls, Custom link tracking calls (Custom/Download/Exit) and also data-interstion API calls.

For example: We land on website "example.com" and pageview call is made to our only report suite: "example_rsid_US", this call will be Primary Server Call.

  • Secondary Server Calls: Copies of primary server calls created by multi-suite tags or copied/moved by a VISTA rule. If a secondary server call has been moved (not copied) to a different report suite by a VISTA rule, the accumulated secondary calls are deducted from the primary server calls.

For example: Let's assume we have a Global report suite (for holistic reports) and one country based report suite for each Market/Country. Now If we land on "example.com", with Multi-Suite Tagging (Multiple Report Suites Tagging) that is: report-suites = "example_rsid_US,example_rsid_Global".
Single pageview call will be made to Adobe Servers and the hit will be copied to secondary report-suite ("example_rsid_Global").

    So in above scenario:
"example_rsid_US" will incur One Primary Server Call
"example_rsid_Global" will incur One Secondary Server Call (as the same hit was copied here)

I hope that answers your question - Let me know if additional details/examples are required.

    Reference: https://experienceleague.adobe.com/en/docs/analytics/admin/admin-tools/server-call-usage/overage-overview

@abhinavpuri thank you for this explanation! Its clears this up for me. We have a global report suite as you mentioned in your example above and hence the explanation of our secondary server call numbers makes sense now! Thank you 🙂
