Solved

I have an image stored in the DAM that will not display in my Slideshow component.  It displays if I use the foundation General > Image component in a parsys, but not in the Slideshow.  2 out of the 3 images display.  I have tried renaming the image, uploading it from outside of CQ, no success.  Can someone point me in the right direction!  I looked at the images permissions and everything seems fine.I have tried hard coding the image onto the page and inserting it using the component, all with the same result - broken image icon.

With the recent upgrades allowing for responsive simulators, we would like to incorporate this feature into our sites.  However, when we follow the directions for adding responsive simulators to the sidekick on http://dev.day.com/docs/en/cq/current/developing/mobile/responsive.html, we are able to see the correct results (i.e. we can choose different devices for previewing) but the page renderings are unpredictable.  Unlike, the page component that is used for /content/geometrixx-media/en.html, our core page components were created before this functionality existed and doesn't seem to be properly structured to make use of the simulator.jsp.  We also run into similar issues while trying to add the mobile emulators to our pre-existing templates.  The CSS never seems to render in the simulator or emulator correctly. Some of our sites are responsive and working correctly in the real world, but just not in the simulator.  For example, when I choose iPhone 4 (or anything with a small width),

Hi all,Does CQ/AEM have a built in way to deal with client library caching issues?  When using the foundation image component, the final src attribute of the image in the clients browser is something like:<img title="My Image" alt="My Image" src="/content/myapp/en/mypage/_jcr_content/somewhere/my_image.img.png /1368587149255.png">This allows the browser to cache the image, but when the image is updated in AEM, the src attribute is updated accordingly, and therefore the new image is requested by the browser. Does CQ also have this kind of functionality for it's client libraries, so that javascript and CSS files can be cached in the same sort of way, and automatically get renewed when updated?  For example, something like:<script type="text/javascript" src="/etc/designs/myapp/myclientlib_1368587149255.js"></script> <link rel="stylesheet" href="https://forums.adobe.com/etc/designs/myapp/myclientlib_1368587149255.css" type="text/css"/>I know we could set the expires

Hi,I have created a new user and entered all the user properties such as First Name, Last Name, Email. WhenI acivate the user by right click the user and select Activate, all these properties are not replicated at the published instance. However, when I use the Activate Tree to activate the path /home/users, unchecking the Only Modified, the user properties are replicated properly to the publish instance. Why can't I right click the user and activate the user?I am using CQ5.3.

Can I build an online social community?

How can I push a popup massage directly out of a workflow process (OSGI component ) like "MyProcess"example on http://dev.day.com/docs/en/cq/current/workflows/wf-extending.html?cq_ck=1375948862136?I would like to inform the user that a workflow can not be started (due to missing configuration parameters)or during the steps that it can not progress, because of the missing user data that should be provided at the workflows run time.

Hi ,     From a earlier post (http://forums.adobe.com/message/5395368) it is mentioned that  global.jsp can be updated with extra code to avoid getting CQ decoration tags in publish instance . However when I tried it with a simple example , decoration tags with substrings 'parsys' or 'parbase'  get removed but still some extra divs gets appended in place. So the case I tested is , My template page component is testpage.jsp  which simply has a cq:include for a parsys apart from inclusion of global.jsp . Then I have a simple dialog component (block.jsp and a clientlib for css)  which I dragged and dropped in to the parsys .Block.jsp has three simple divs enclosed in a div .  The markups which were generated are as follows . The div's in bold are the extra one's being generated .Update in Global.jsp - Preview mode--------------------------<div class="parsys parsys1"><div class="block1 section"><link rel="stylesheet" href="https://forums.adobe.com/apps/training/components/blo

Hi All,I was trying to understand what exactly are these curl commands. Tried searching but could not get exact information I wanted.Found one link http://www.wemblog.com/2012/03/how-to-do-user-management-using-post.html.Doubts as below :- In AEM 5.6.1 OOTB instance, where should I run this(any curl command)- Is there any separate tool/utility I need to make use of to run the curl commands.

Does AEM support integration with third-party LDAP systems?

Hi all, I integrated the login mechanism of a CQ5 site to use the Websphere Commerce authentication, so the profiles of the users of my CQ5 site lives on Websphere Commerce, now I want that to feed the "Client Context" component with that data (User profile information on Websphere Commerce). At this moment I got an API to retrieve from Websphere Commerce the profile information of the current user logged into my CQ5 site, but my question is how I can override and set the correct data (Websphere Commerce data) into the cookies used by the the "Client Context" component ? Any idea of when and how the Client Context cookie "SessionPersistence" is created ?

Are different Cloud Service Configurations (/etc/cloudservices) allowed per runmode? For example, if one wanted to use the Generic Analytics Snippet and use one snippet for author mode (tracking data to "testing" analytics account), and a different snippet for publish mode (tracking data to "production" analytics account), is that supported through the config.author or config.publish constructs used elsewhere? If not, is there a recommended practice for implementation of this? My actual implementation utilizes a custom service configuration and configuration page, so I am able to create a custom solution if necessary.

Can any one explain  what happened to all the very usefull forum replies in CQ5 forum and where do we access them again in this new forum page?

The main requirement is to identify all transitive dependencies on a page and disallow the authors of those dependencies from reviewing the page.I have broken the requirement into smaller parts and trying to the do the following1) Get a list of all the links on a page (can be links to assets/pages) - How to get this list? I tried using AssetReference API but it does not give list of associated pages on a page, also it does not give list of any asset that you might have set using a composite field2) Determine who all have worked on all those related assets/pages - Using audit log I can determine the data for a page but not for an asset. For asset I am trying to use activity manager, but the activity manager is not providing the data for activities of user other than admin. For a user I can see activity folder created and see all the activities from CRXDE but I am unable to retrieve the data for that user.3) Accordingly apply business rule to see if the same person can review the workflo

Hello,When I move a page to another directory, it does not update links from other pages that are linked to it as described here:http://dev.day.com/docs/en/cq/5-6/wcm/page_create_edit.html#Moving or Renaming PageDoes anybody else experience this issue? Thank you.

Hi.I am new user of Adobe CQ .There is a question about displaying components in different browser.I have developed components, using IE9,and the other one has written CSS, using Chrome and FireFox(latest ver.).We use same author instance.(AEM ver 5.6.1)After completion of following steps, the problem occurs: 0: Create a page component.1: Include parsys in JSP which render the page component.2: Put a product component which cq eCommerce add-on has on parsys3: Check the component displayed in IE94: Check the component displayed in FireFox and Chrome(latest ver.)the problem is that in Chrome and FireFox, the product component wasn't displayed, while in IE9 the product component was displayed. Is there any rule that we have to follow or any tips  when we put product component on parsys in Chrome or FireFox?Regards,Yazawa

I'm running CQ 5.4 and successfully integrated with AD via LDAP with the following settings:com.day.crx.core.CRXLoginModule sufficient;com.day.crx.security.ldap.LDAPLoginModule requireduserRoot="CN=ABC,OU=hello,DC=world"As long as the user is a member of the ABC group, he can sign in and their user is then created in the CRX. If I then remove the user from ABC group, however, they can still login. I understand that CRXLoginModule is set to sufficient, but I thought LDAPLoginModule takes precedence due to "required" setting. Of course, once I delete the user in the CRX, the user can no longer login. Is this normal behavior, or should a user not be able to login? Thanks.

Can I build a commerce web site using AEM?

In particular, while at the moment I can define a listener like this:<linkDialogConfig>  <listeners    jcr:primaryType="nt:unstructured"    show="function() { MyNamespace.myChangeListener(); }"/>I cannot define it like this:<linkDialogConfig>  <listeners    jcr:primaryType="nt:unstructured"    show="MyNamespace.myChangeListener"/>Is there a way to just pass the function literal rather than having to wrap it inside a function() { } expression?
