The “activate page” option present in the sidekick of the author instance replicates all the child/subchild nodes of that page on the publish instance.But, we want to restrict a specific child node from getting published on the publish instance.Please suggest. For example, in the attached screenshot,  We have a cq:page type node named "rewards". While activating this page from Sidekick, I do not want the node "designpackage" to get published.

Hi there,I have a blueprint and live copy (based on that blueprint) site.  I also have an author group with CRUD permissions on both sites, but replicate permission only on the live copy.An user in that author group can successfully rollout updates to existing pages within the blueprint, that have previously been rolled out to the live copy.  However, that same user cannot rollout a new page that he/she created in the blueprint, to the live copy i.e. the Rollout option is disabled.  What is going on here?  Are the permissions set incorrectly?  What permission does a user need in order to be able to rollout a new page from a BP to a LC?Thanks in advance,RKB.

I am following the security guidelines to disable the debug filter as explained in the link below:http://dev.day.com/docs/en/cq/current/deploying/osgi_configuration_settings.html#Day%20CQ%20WCM%20Debug%20FilterBut I cannot find "Day CQ WCM Debug Filter" in the config page.Does anybody know where the filter configuration is for disabling it ?

Will there be any noticeable differences between Package Installation vs Replication. At very first time of website publishing after the completion of development which one will be good to consider either package installation or Replication.?

Hi ,We are working on AEM 5.6 and we have an issue, when we create a page and start activating the page through siteadmin , it is failing and resulting into Null Pointer Exception.It is because the content path it is looking at /content/campaigns.when we disable the personalization jar in felix console. the page activation is working as expected from siteadmin.But if we enable the personalization bundle it is throwing null pointer exception.Our need is without disabling the personalization jar the page activation should work from site admin. Any body has any idea how to get out of this issue.

When I created the component and mentioned the component group it’s not visible in sidekick but when I added the sling: resourceType:/foundation/components/list  property it’s visble in sidekick.May I know what would be the reason why it is not visble when I didn’t mention the sling:resourceType property to the component.Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone. My requirement is to forcefully logout user after some specific time (say 12 hrs). For logging out we will delete the user cookie created during login. We are thinking to use doFilter to achive this. When a user logs in we will add timestamp to user cookie and then on every subsequent request we will check current time - user login time > 12 then we will delete the user cookies. This doFilter code is working fine. I am getting what I need. But what I observe that now every request to CQ is coming to this Filter. Will this cause performance issue on production since any activity on site will come to doFilter ? Is there any other better way to achieve this ?  Any setting I can do in doFilter ? Thanks in advance.

( I'm using CQ 5.5 )I have found the multivariate component and I think it's pretty nice but limited in its functionality. The ability to test static images is fine but what about dynamic content like buttons (button colors/text), carousel images, text/image combinations, and other items.Is there another component that can do this? Are campaigns able to? Brainstorm: I'm thinking maybe i can store my dynamic compononets on one page and then have the multivariate component call the references to these components and then track which reference was clicked. Would something like that be possible? Any ideas or suggestions would be great!

Hi,We have customized the RTE in C5.5 by adding all the required plug-ins and when we use this RTE in column control(with 2 columns) the editor toolbar is wrapping in second line perfectly. Now we are upgrading from CQ5.5 to AEM5.6.1 and when we use this RTE in column control(with 2 columns), the editor toolbar is not wrapping and missing table, source editor, left indent, right indent etc...  I tried adding a property adjustEditorToToolbarHeight=true at /apps/autodesk/components/modular/rich-text/dialog/items/items/tab1/items/text but still having same issue.I have attached screen shot for your reference. ThanksMuni

Hi there,I have got a requirement which has 2 parts: 1) the form content will be saved into a jcr node, and 2) the form content will be sent out to a specific email address. I have used CQ5 foundation form component in order to implement part 1. In there, I specified the form action type as 'Store Content' and the form content path which is storing the form content right at the location. However, I am facing an issue with part 2. I created a emailServlet class which handles the generic email implementation specific to my project. This class resides in the project's bundle. Now my question is, how  I can implement the part 2 using the cq5 form action (type = Mail) to forward it to my email Servlet class. Please let me know how to resolve it. Thanks in advance.

Hey Community-Members,during the last days I collect a lot information about the Adobe AEM, CQ and CRX. I did this, because my company would like to work with these technologies in the future. Well, after all my theoretical research I want to get a closer look at specific development, deployment and configuration properties of the Adobe AEM, CQ and CRX.Well, is there any possibility to get something like a Developer License or Trial of these products without a Maintenance & Support Contract or being a business partner of Adobe?During my research, I had a look at the Adobe Downloads Page (http://www.adobe.com/de/downloads.html) and notice a link to Download a "CRX™ Content Platform Developer Edition". But the link doesn't work. :-(In the last days, I also worked with the core technologies of the AEM Stack (e.g. Apache Jackrabbit, Apache Sling or Apache Felix). Maybe this gives me a first impression how the Adobe products work. ;-) Best regards!

A custom parent component 's JSP has include statement like this  (parentXXX)<c:if test="${someThing== true}">                    <sling:include path="childXXXNode" resourceType="apps/xxx/components/childXXX" />                  </c:if>Two scenario.1. if i drag and drop childXXX on the CQ page parsys area, immediately  childXXXNode node would be created under /content/site/page/par/childXXXNode.. that's fine2.if i include childXXX as stated above in JSP code , then if i go to edit dialog for the child component ,CQ5 throws 404 for childXXXNode.infinity.json since that path has not been created yet but once you save edit dialog , node gets created and then next time CQ5 never throws 404 because JCR Path for child component has been created under page/par/parentXXX node under content..Now question is : How can we create JCR node for child component  under page/par/parentXXX/ as soon as include statement gets executed very first time?Thanks Chandra

Why is it that adding tags to content causes warnings in the error log? When I go to page properties of a Geometrix page and add a tag to a page, the following warning appears in the error log. In this example I added the ootb orientation tag:19.12.2013 16:27:18.022 *WARN* [0:0:0:0:0:0:0:1 [1387488438020] GET /etc/tags/properties/orientation.tag.json HTTP/1.1] com.day.cq.commons.JSONWriterUtil XSS protection service was not provided or not available while processing key [description]When I add the tag, CQ makes the following json request which triggers the warning:http://localhost:4502/etc/tags/properties/orientation.tag.jsonAdding a description to the orientation tag does not stop the warning. My environment is a brand new 5.5 author instance on Windows. I have also noticed this warning in a production instance running 5.5 with service pack 3.

Hi All,Our client wants to  create events which repeats over multiple days but with different timings. So suppose if a concert is happening today at 7pm then it should have the flexibility to repeat it tomorrow again but at 9pm.In our current implementation, we have created events using event form template and provides basic layout to support repetition(daily, monthly, yearly, full day). Though it only accepts time with the start date definition. please see attached screenshot.So i wanted to confirm if CQ can support this or not? or whether it can be achieved without re-writing the entire event implementation? Any pointer or ideas will be helpful.Thanks,Alka
