Filter by Smart List in Segmentation

I searched the community for an answer to this and couldn't find what I was looking for.

I'm trying to create segments of my customers but I need to filter by "Member of Smart List". Is there a reason why this filter is not available as an option in the Segmentation portal in Lead Database?

A wordaround is adding leads to a static list with a smart campaign, and adding the "member of list" filter to the segment.

This is an unsupported feature at this time (ability to use a smart list in a segment). We currently do not have plans to enhance segmentation to include this filter.

Thanks for the responses.

My workaround is actually building out my segementations without the "Member of Smart List" filter but then instead adding "Member of Smart List" filters in the Smart Campaign of the Campaign I'm using it for...if that makes sense.

Most likely because this would have serious performance issues. But just add the same filters to the segment....

I can't use the same filters to the segment. My smart list is set up so that when a user clicks any link with xxx in the URL in the last 7 days. I'll try the smart campaign thing, though.
