Durable Unsubscribe

Durable Unsubscribe - Marketo Docs - Product Documentation mentions that - When a new person is created, Marketo checks it against the master email status table. If the person was previously unsubscribed, we'll update the record to be unsubscribed.

Would this mean that even if we update Unsubscribe to FALSE, and delete the lead, since the lead was previously unsubscribed, whenever the lead gets created again, the new lead shall be considered as Unsubscribed = TRUE?

Is there a way to pick the latest Unsubscribed status, in case the above is true?

I believe the system will remember the latest status and compare to that. Try it on a test lead/person.
